Malware Removal
Well well, someone has been looking at naughty links? Or maybe you clicked a random link you received on Facebook? Whatever the case may be, everyone runs into Malware even if you have Anti-Spyware software. They can be quite a pain depending on what type you’ve received, but most are pretty easy to remove. Here are some easy steps to remove malware/viruses from your machine without having to dig in your registry or reformat your machine.
- First, lets download Rkill.exe which can be found here:

I suggest getting the rkill.com and rkill.scr as well, they will be useful if the malware wont allow you to run .exe files.
Once you have it downloaded, run the program so it will stop the malware in its tracks and it will allow you begin the full removal process.
- Next, lets grab us a fresh copy of Malwarebytes, you can download it here:

Now that you have downloaded Malwarebytes, lets start the installer. Go through the installation steps and make sure to have the Update box checked. It will download the newest updates for Malwarebytes and restart the program. Once it has been restarted, click full scan and let it run.
Once its done finding the infected files you click the Show Results button.
It will show you the result of the scan and the infected files, after you’re done click the Remove Selected.
After it has removed the files, it will ask you to restart your machine. Click Yes and it will reboot.
Congratulations! You have now removed the Virus/Malware from your machine. This will remove majority of the Malware/Virus out there, the bigger ones are more complicated in the removal process due to having to do registry edits.

Outlook Send/Receive Not Working?
We’ve all been there, your outbox is piling up with unsent mail and your coworker sent you a proposal an hour ago. Whats the first thing you do in these situations? Contact your IT support of course! Before you jump to that step, lets take a few easy steps to see if you can resolve the issue yourself before you place that ticket.
First, lets get the obvious one out the way…make sure your internet is working correctly and you can navigate websites. You can? Good! Lets move on.
Second, make sure you aren’t running multiple instances of outlook. If you are, close both out and restart your Outlook program and check to see if you can send/receive again. You’d be surprised how many times this fools users, I’ve gotten dozen of calls regarding this issue and this is my go-to for fixing the problem.
Third, in your Outlook click File and make sure you aren’t working offline, misclicks happen folks and it happens a lot. Fourth, please make sure that any mail you are trying to send isn’t a 50GB attachment, Outlook will refuse to push out large attachments on emails and it will create traffic going out of your Outbox.
If you’ve taken these steps and your Outlook is still not working, contact your IT support! They’ll be able to let you know the status of the situation or be able to fix it on the spot. Usually if the above fixes don’t work there is issues with the authentication of your account or the email provider/exchange server is having some technical issues.
